Running a small business with QuickBooks is the easy way to a happier business. For the FY20 global launch, we created a campaign showing iconic, notoriously grumpy characters from the past who are now transformed business owners thanks to QuickBooks.

Acclaimed comedy director Harold Einstein helped bring Sensei Kreese (Martin Kove) from Karate Kid and Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts) from Ghostbusters back to life, but this time with a smile on their faces and a whole new attitude.

The spots were part of a $100m campaign spanning multiple channels from TV to OLVs, social posts, GIFs, IG Stories and even Koala Kai merchandise.

To show how easy it is to invoice or run payroll on the QuickBooks app, we created a series of interactive IG Stories frames using the same tapping functionality to get our message across

We leaned into existing behaviors with Janine and Sensei posting #ThrowbackThursday GIFS of their grumpy past life selves

And of course, shareable GIFS

We even did a collection of Koala Kai merch
